plain pastry for 1 crust

1 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour, 2 pinches salt, 1/2 cup veggie lard, 4 to 5 tablespoons ice cold water.

Sift flour and use 2 forks together to cut lard into tiny pieces sprinkle water of it a little at a time,mix well and roll into a ball.  Press down on it with a little flour on the board and roll out it about 1/8 inch or so.............get out your pie plate and put your rolled out pie crust on it and press it in place with your hands.  You can press the edges down on the top, cut off the excess and crimp the top with your fingers.  This is very basic...when I was young they saved bacon grease  in the fridge to add instead of all lard..........you could add some lemon instead of all water...............
