I would never cook a turkey in a crock pot because it will not brown at all.  Cook it in the oven, or use your Crock Pot cookbook which came with it to find out how long to cook it.

I know that it won't brown, but it sure is moist....I have only a recipe for a breast...in 4 qt    cook on low 7 to 9 hours and temp when test should be 180...........let it stand 10 to 15 minutes before cutting....

You must have a really big crock pot!  Meats take a long time to cook in a crock pot, so I'd put it in there at least 12 hours before I need to use it.  Be sure to check it with a meat thermometer, 165 for turkey.

I just saw a big roaster at Walmart..............that is more like an oven with a cover...............a crock pot will make it fall apart unless you like it that way.  They only had white ones at this Walmart.............but they could be kept in a closet when not in use.
