how to cook peanuts to eat

I have raw peanuts and need to know how to cook them so we can eat them as a snack. I do not want to make peanut butter. I want them salted and cooked for snacks.

Depending on the amount of peanuts, you can boil them with salt and you will have 'boiled peanuts' as they are called at the road side stand.  Just cover them with water in a pot and add approoximately a cup of salt to the water.  Boil them for about a half hour and sample them for doneness.  Also, they should start to take the salt.  Be careful to not add salt until you are satisfied with the salty taste.  It's easy to get them too salty.  If you do add too much salt, just put them back in a pot of cold water and bring it to a boil again and reverse osmosis will take care of some of the salt.  GOOD LUCK!!.  I boil a bushel each summer but I use a 20 quart pot and use my burner outside.  If you have a large quantity, such as a peck, over them with water, add 1 1/2 cup of salt, and cook them for approx 1 1/2 hours.  In the meantime you will probably need to add more water but begin to taste them and you will know when they are done to your taste.  Cut the heat off and they will submerge to the bottom of the pot.  As soon as most have submerged, they are ready to eat.
