What are the best and least toxic frying pans?

I have heard that Teflon contains a large amount of toxins. What are some alternatives to teflon pans which provide a good non-stick surface without the use of toxic chemicals?

caste iron is #1.....then stainless steel.................

Caste iron frying pans which have been well-seasoned.  American-made are the best iron pans you can use, and if you can find some at a yard sale which have already been well seasoned, all the better.

There is something new on the market called blue stone frying pans.  Probably very expensive from Germany.  Clean & season them just like caste iron.  Probably not as heavy but heavier than stainless steel.

The BEST Fry Pan I Ever USED Was CERAMIC I Found One In A Womans Shop In Dallas--Park Ln. And 75--Across From Northpark...On Sale For $10.00!! Used It For 15 Years, Then Had A Cooking Party & It Was Stolen!  Rats!!
