Can frozen pears be used for baking?

I received a delivery of pears that were frozen when they arrived.  Is there any way to use them in baking?

If depends if they were not over ripe when they were frozen by someone else.  Overripe pears get very gritty says the web.  Defrost a package and see how they look and taste.  If the skins are still on you could make pear jam.  If the skins are off they needed to be treat with asboric acid like lemon to keep them from discoloring.  Only you can answer this.  The web says that you can use frozen pears if they were pretreated and packaged properly.
