Yes you can cut it in half and use vac pac to freeze it.  That gets the most air out of the meat to prevent freezer burn.  Date & mark.  If you don't have a vac pack a heavy duty 2 gallon zip-loc and get all the air out mark & date.

I know that it is a little late , but yes you can freeze any meat .Just make sure , that when you put it into a zip lock freezer bag .You get all the air out .Or you will end up with freezer burn . The best way i found to get all the air out of a zip lock freezer bag is :

1) zip it almost shut ,leaving about a half inch left to zip .

2) stick a straw down into the bag .

3) squeeze the zip lock bag around the straw .

4) remove all the air by (you guessed it) putting the straw into your mouth and extracting all the air until the bag is flat against whatever you have in the bag .

5)keep extracting the air until you have pulled the straw out of the bag and at the same time zipping the freezer bag shut.

You will find it very easy to do  after a couple of times . It works for a lot of things.
