How long should I boil eggs?

I'm looking for the perfect hard boiled egg. How long would you recommend I boil them for?

I gently put eggs in pot and so the eggs are covered............add some salt................and 2 tablespoons of vinegar to prevent breaking...............bring them to a rolling boil and turn them off and cover and let them sit on the burner for 20 minutes..................then take to sink & run cold water into the pot rinse well and leave them in cold water.  Drain and refrigerate until needed.
