This first recipe is from Allrecipes.com...best big fat chewy chocolate chip cookie..serving 18

2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teasp baking soda, if you use unsalted butter add 1/2 salt, but using salted butter omit salt, 3/4 unsalted butter softened, 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C0 best if lined with parchment paper or grease cookie pan.   Sift together the flour, baking soda and if salt is added and set aside.  In medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar & white sugar until well blended.  Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until light & creamy.  Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended.  Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon.  Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets about 3 inches apart.  Bake 15 to 17 minutes in preheated oven or until the edges are lightly toasted.  Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.  When totally cooled off put int air tight containers and seal.  Keep in a cool dry area.

2nd recipe is for regular chocolate chip cookies.

Ghiradelli 60% cocoa chocolate chip cookies.......................this has been tried and a great recipe about 4 dozen

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 cup butter softened, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup light brown sugar packed, 2 tsp vanilla, 2 large eggs, 2 cups Ghiradelli 60% cocoa bittersweet baking chips

1 cup chopped walnut or pecans (optional) I grind them

Heat oven to 375F, stir flour with baking soda & salt & set aside, In large mixer bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy.  Add vanilla & eggs one at a time and mix on low speed until incorporated.  Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture, stir in chocolate chips & nuts, drops by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, I use parchment paper and bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
