How can you remove excess salt from a homemade soup

My husband prepared a home made soup that included a bouillion.

Wash & take the skins off some big red potatoes..............put as many as you can fit into the soup...they will absorb the salt..cook them on low....you might need to do it twice if it's a big batch.   They do now carry salt free broth in cans.

add a raw potato to the soup it should soak up some salt,remember to remove it from the soup.
