You can cut the potatoes in half and other carrotts, celery and you have to put liquid in the baking pan and you could use plain ginger ale in the bottom.  You have to keep some liquid in the bottom or it will burn bake on the middle shelf and keep an eye on the veggies because they need to be turned and taken out before the ham is done and but into a heavy bowl and covered with foil and kept on top of the stove to stay warm.
