how to cook the common carpL

Commom carp is an invasive species in America. Almost everyone that I asked said to not eat the fish. The thing that confuses me is that carp is the number one farmed fish of the world. So how do I get it and cook it?

You need to purge a live carp in a bucket of water for about a week to get the mud taste out.  Carp are bottom feeders.  You can gut it and cook it on wrapped foil, add salt & pepper lemon juice if you like onion,  keep the head & tail on to keep the moisture in.....depending on size how long you cook one side....then turn over and finish the other side..........or if you like it fried, filet it and get the bones out...if you like slices or thick pieces........heat your oil.....I like to use a caste iron pan.................use seasoned flour......coat the fish keeping 1 hand for dry and 1 hand for wet........then into egg wash......then into corn meal........then when all is finished start to fry them.....have a big tray with paper towels on it to absorb the oil....................then when the first layer is done add paper towels to the top and start you next layer..............Enjoy your carp.....I like to fried one once in a while.
